I had a gratitude attack in the shower this morning. I’m in Mammoth with one of the women I sponsor* and one of the women she sponsors.
I love being sober. I love sober life. I love being a part of other people’s sobriety and watching them grow and learn as I grow and learn alongside them.
I’ve been doing this sober thing for so long that I can get complacent. I take it for granted – more often than I’d care to admit.
But today was one of those days that I treasure. That I want to keep in my heart.
A day of adventure, triumphs, falls and cheers. We push each other to be fearless and we support each other’s bravery.
And yes, we tore up the mountain.
*A sponsor is the name of a person who guides another through recovery in a 12-step program.
